Response to classmate
assignment:
By Sat 10/12: Reply to the claim from another student.
- Note that you are only responding to one other student, but are finding two reliable sources for their claim.
- Research the medical claim posted by another student.
- Choose a post that is not being researched by any students. Only if ALL other posts are already being researched can you choose the same one as another student to research.
- Identify which claim you are researching by posting a response that says “I will research this”.
- You will probably not find sources that address this product directly, so focus on the claim itself. For example, if the product is claiming that it will help keep you healthy because it contains “X”. Research “X” to find out what it does.
- Find two reliable online source that has information to help you support or refute the medical claim about this product.
- Use the library guide on Evaluating Online Medical Information to explain why you think this source is reliable.
- Focus your evaluation on the site itself rather than the information.
- Provide a link to each source.
- Summarize what you learned from each reliable source in 4 – 6 sentences.
- Does the source support or refute the original claim?
- What information about the medical claim does the source provide?
Classmate:
I found an article on naturalnews.com regarding the use of Ivermectin for treatment of covid19 patients. I believe this is a non reliable article because there are no sources listed for how the information about the product was obtained. It mentions experiments with the medication and there is no proof of anything. There is no contact information listed and just other links to the same type of articles are provided.
The U.S. military, creator of the COVID VACCINE, already knew since 2016 that IVERMECTIN was the BEST product to use in the event of a pandemic – NaturalNews.comLinks to an external site.
